Just keep swimming, just keep swimming

We did it!

We chose a realtor.

Her name is Karen De Young, and she’s AMAZING. Check her out at www.rureadytomove.com. We've had several families refer her to us, and we're so excited that we clicked well! She’s knowledgeable, professional, and so kind. Now we are going to continue to pray with her for this process!! We're still not sure if we're going to use an FHA loan or an 80/17. So join us! In praying, in looking, and in praying some more! For wisdom, great communication, patience, and everything else that goes along with buying your first home. We’re looking at moving in the early summer, and will probably end up buying a short sale (so patience is a BIG prayer request!)….

Me being a Sunde, gave Karen a typed document of everything we were looking for – our “must haves/deal breakers”, and our would be nices….

Family Pictures by Jessica H.

Thank you so much dear friend!

 How blessed are we...

I can't believe she will be six months old on November 15th. Thank you Jesus for her precious life....

Yes- she has found her tongue yet again. :)

She was a bit sleepy, and had a full belly! :))

She's not QUITE ready to walk yet... we tried.
Em's not really a fan.

Precious kisses and whispers from Daddy. This melts my heart.

Go baby go!

I love them.

My daughter.

Our big (little) gift from God.

Thank you Jessica!

Being honest w/ Paula

Today I told my sister some of my secrets about depression … stuff that I had never shared with her or many others, because she (or them) had never asked. I didn’t even realize how I had kept them. Perhaps it was intentional to keep them secrets when I was still in hiding my desperate and constant battle with depression, but I’m not any more. And it’s great! J Now, I’m finding that I’m not intentional about telling those who aren’t interested that I’ve struggled, but rather be open to those who are. I’m proud of her for asking and not judging, at least I hope not judging. She seemed compassionate, and accepting, and I was relieved inside. Thank you Paula Deen. It was a rough time for everyone (me & those affected by my “absence”), and it is a fight that happens every day, but I have the tools to battle now, at that includes having a supportive family which includes YOU. J

In the battle & knowing there’s hope,
xoxo

Parting of the clouds

Isaiah 2:12-22 (KJV)

12For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
13And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,
14And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
15And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
16And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.
17And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
18And the idols he shall utterly abolish.
19And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
   20In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
21To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?
Thank you Lord for being a God that we can take refuge in. Thank you for being a God of refuge. Thank you for having your hand upon my life and the lives of my family members so we can HAVE HOPE! Lord my eyes are lifted up and the clouds are parting and I feel your presense. Thank you for being THE Lord of Hope. We can put our faith in you and not be disappointed. This does not mean our life is or ever will be void of troubles, but in You and With You, we can have faith to walk through the fires and to go through the flames. Lord that life won't keep us down, that depression won't keep me down GOD that you be glorified, that You be magnified, That you have all the GLORY HONOR and PRAISE!

Thank you God, for parting our clouds, and allowing us to have that relationship with you.

Family Picture Sneak Peak

A sneak peak of our photos from Jessica H. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all! Can't wait to see more! :)
Life is so great. But today I feel that cloud that I haven't felt for awhile. I don't like it, but by faith and hope it will pass. There is so much that Christ has given us that brings me hope, joy, and strength. My beautiful, healthy family, a great job that I love that's close to home, my parents and sisters, my in laws and brother and sister in laws, my nieces and nephew, I have SO much. I wish that could lift this cloud. I'll let you know when it's sunny out again. It will be soon. Thank you Lord.
I walked out of my house this morning feeling professional in my high heels (I rarely wear heels to work), only to realize as I’m walking up to my office that my black skirt is inside out. Yes, I did say inside out. I mean skirt on the outside hem showing inside out. Funny thing is I looked in the mirror this morning.

Ah the joys of my life.

seriously?

Me: Okay I’m so excited I have to tell someone.

Friend: Are you pregnant?

Me: NO! If that were the case, I would need a bottle of wine, and a shot to go with it! No no no… not yet and not for awhile.

Friend: Oh. Then what?

Me: We’re meeting a real estate agent tonight, and taking the first step forward into buying our first house. It will most likely be a 8+ month journey, but starting that journey with my husband and baby girl is so exciting.

(Inner thought- ‘I have got to go to the gym.’) J

work

Someone came in and asked me if I wanted advice on a grammatical error I had made in an email. I laughed and said no- I’ve already heard them all. She laughed, and then told me anyways.

Now I laugh so hard inside that I’m crying and I can’t hold back the tears.

I love my life.

The joy of our hearts

Emelynn you are now 5 months & 1 week old, and you continue to bring us so much. joy. Here are just some of the things we've experienced with you:

  • You LOVE watching sports with Daddy & I, and you like watching Baby Einstein and music sing-a-long videos at Miss Katie's. You cheer on the Giants with us too! It's amazing how normally content you are during the games, even if it's past your bedtime. Danielle S. made this beanie for you. We thought it was perfect! :)

  • You've experienced rain for the first time. You're not quite sure what to think about it. You don't really react to it, unless you get water on your face. You're starting to get used to Daddy & I putting you in big puffy jackets and socks, although you still don't like wearing shoes. And something tells us you're not too fond of the jackets either. You don't complain though.... too much.

  • You now eat about 4 containers of food per day! You weren't that partial to peas to start out with, but you like them now! And you always make a funny face when you eat peaches. They're quite tart though, and I think the taste surprises you! Your favorite food is carrots, but squash comes in a close second. And you always have bananas for breakfast on the weekends. :)
  • You have grown even closer to the Aunts & Uncles you have, and are starting to recognize people you see more often. Poppee (Grandpa; my Dad) always makes funny faces. You always look so perplexed by his faces, but sometimes you find it's funny. :) You reached out to "Meemee" (Grandma Barb) for the first time yesterday. You love her tickle time! Auntie Brittany & Uncle Mason love playing with you- and Auntie Brittany ALWAYS gets you laughing and smiling. Aunt Megan knows just how to snuggle you. How you connect with her always amazes me. And Uncle Aaron- well you're just a flirt with him. :)

  •  You still don't like your car seat, and I don't think you ever really will. You don't sleep in the car unless you're exhausted- but if you're OVER TIRED - forget about it. No such thing as falling asleep in the car. However we were able to snap this picture, but you didn't actually fall asleep IN the carseat. But you didn't wake up when we put you in it!

  • You roll over constantly- especially at night. We always find that you've kicked, squirmed, and rolled your way into the upper corner of your crib every single night.

  • You like being bounced, compared to being rocked.
  • You have a routine now- I think.
  • You LOVE LOVE LOVE to laugh!

  • You will not stay awake past 7 no matter how hard we try, and you usually wake up 2 times a night, and then at 5:30 (even on the weekends :))
  • You have officially FOUND YOUR TONGUE! Every smile now involves a small tongue poking out. Sorry sweetheart, you have my tongue. :) This was blatantly obvious during your first photo shoot at Sears. :) See some of our harvest/fall pictures here: Sears Photos
  • We took our first family pictures yesterday. Jessica H. took them; it was so good to see her. You did so great little one. We haven't seen them yet- but when we do- we'll post them for sure!
  • You like being in your pack in play. We tied some toys from one corner to the other, and it keeps you relatively entertained!
  • Your favorite toys are your Sophie (a rubber giraffe) and your musical seahorse. You go to sleep with your seahorse every night now.
  • You still don't take great naps when we're not at home. Which is OK, because when you do get home, you snuggle and cuddle and curl... and we love having that time with you.
  • You've done SO GREAT at day care with Miss Katie and little Violet. You go for a walk every day in the double stroller, and you're starting to get used to that! They have so many toys, which you love! And Violet loves making you laugh.
  • You still love your bottle, and sometimes eat for comfort. We're okay with that for now, as long as you don't NEED food to sleep. Although- when you do, it's pretty funny. See video earlier posted: Emelynn falling asleep while eating
  • You are SO teething. Anything and everything goes in your mouth, although your favorite is always Mom or Dad's fingers. :)

  • Walter loves to give you kisses, and you love it too! If you're fussy Walter comes up to you and kisses you - your toes, your hands, and now you're face. He loves you and is so protective!

Something new every day, and every day we love. We love you baby girl.

Love, Mom & Dad

My life.

Today started out as every other day.
I woke up to Jeremy telling me to get up, and me asking him when the alarm went off because I didn’t hear it. I didn’t realize how exhausting going to Sears for a cheap $7.99 photo deal package would be. (We ended up spending $50 – thanks E & M for the gift card!) THANKFULLY M took R and we went together, braving the photographers, pooping children, and rain for a photo session. Em decided to spit up and be a little tired (she was EXHAUSTED by the time it ended, and thankfully fell fast asleep), but was such a trooper. We had to keep telling her to put her new-found tongue back in her mouth. No amount of convincing or bribery worked. J We got some cute pictures though.

I eventually rolled out of bed far past when I should have only to be greeted by a full version of myself due to our floor-length closet mirrors. Why, oh God were those put in our bedroom? I leisurely stumble over to the bathroom where I, at the same time, brush my teeth, think through my day, wonder what I need to put in the diaper bag, talk with my mouth full of toothpaste asking Jeremy to put something in the diaper bag, take out my make-up bag and then spit out my toothpaste because my mouth is on fire from the ever so sensible minty-flavor some genius put in my toothpaste.

I proceed to go through my day, dropping my gorgeous little one off at day-care. Being a first time Mom who loves photos (I just use the first time mom excuse because I can. Who knows what I will do with numbers 2-?), I ask my girlfriend who watches Em during the day to snap a picture of us. She does and I leave, wishing that I could just sit and cuddle her all day.

Apparently, I still wasn't very awake. At least according to the picture.

I got to work not knowing what kind of Monday I was going to get myself in to. I’m so glad God gave us each our own sense of humor- and I’m glad I find many things in my life funny! Hopefully you will too.
I sent out a calendar today which I had created for a particular segment of our administration. I’ve been working on it for about 3 ½ weeks now, and after previewing it countless times and sending it to other people, I sent it out. About ½ of the people I sent it out to got my personal calendar. Have you ever heard that if its at work, it’s never really personal? Yeah- thank God I didn’t have any OBGYN appointment on there! Thankfully there was only a DMV appointment and “Lunch with Brittany on the grass” scheduled every Wednesday at noon. I did receive a few emails asking what meeting that was? I also had someone respond with- oh you went to Apple Hill last weekend! Awesome guys. Awesome. I recalled the message, hoping that many wouldn’t receive it. Then I sent out an email to everyone who had originally gotten it to please ignore it as I had goofed. Then the people who had gotten the message recalled didn’t know what message I was referring to because I had it recalled. So then I had to explain it to them anyways. Then I tried to send it out again, and now some of them didn’t have access to view it! Even though I had granted it! (At this point, I’m thinking- please- give me a Butterfinger. SOMEONE!) So for the third time I send it and it works. For some. Some still can’t see it. Uhh.

Brittany calls me just in time to grab a bite to eat in the cafeteria. Poor girl thinks she broke her nose playing with Ellie the other day. L We spoke about embarrassing moments and memories and then reminded each other we were human, checked out some other blogs online, and enjoyed some nachos- which unfortunately, didn’t settle well with me later on. Uhh.
I survived cramps, a broken clipe to my name tag, utter embarassement, a meeting, only to check my mailboxes at the end of the day. I share mailboxes with my boss, so I was so touched to see a note on a bag of Guiradelli chocolates that read "Christy, thanks for all your help in the ____ Department"... how nice! Oh gosh! I don't even do that much for ____ Department. I poke my head in their office and jokingly question- you sure you meant to put these in my box? They respond with no no I put those in Christy's box, you wanted them? hahaha. I said- no acually they were in my box? Oh! They get up and put the bag that was supossed to go in my boss' box in there and the bag I had in Christy's box. He'd didn't spell my name wrong- they just weren't for me. Guess there is another Kristi on campus. No chocolate's for me. Uhh, how embarassing.

Tis my Monday. Suprisingly, I maintained a sense of humor and stayed relatively in people's good graces for the remainder of my day. Life. It happens. We're blessed. I laugh. It is. Wonderful. Some memories for the books!
